MSM Comes Clean. Well, Sorta June 3, 2006

Posted by David Card in Media.

Five news organizations are footing half the bill of the government’s $1.6M invasion of privacy settlement paid to Wen Ho Lee, the Los Alamos labs scientist cleared of passing nuclear secrets to China.

“We did so,” they explained, “to protect our confidential sources, to protect our journalists from further sanction and possible imprisonment and to protect our news organizations from potential exposure.”

Where’s the part that says “and because we’re horribly embarassed by being duped by gov’t sources into committing public character assasination and accusing an apparently innocent man of treason”?
