Remember when at every Internet advertising conference, somebody would whine: “How come we’re held to higher accountability standards than TV is?” Remember? (Wait, I heard that just three weeks ago.) Well, no one’s lowering the bar for online, but maybe, just maybe, they’re raising it for the big kahuna.

    “The Internet has raised the bar,” said Mark Kaline, global media manager for the Ford Motor Company and the incoming chairman of the association’s television committee. “There are so many dollars involved in television and print and in other traditional media that we’re looking for greater granularity to help with decisions.”
