Journal Says Potter Ecosystem at Risk May 10, 2007Posted by David Card in Media.
Since I rarely pass up an opportunity to comment on MSM Harry Potter commentary, check out this spin. (Don’t blame me, the Journal’s the one calling it an “ecosystem.”) I’m puzzled why the Journal thinks any of these are more legit than the online fan fiction it scoffs at:
– Mr. Granger, an English teacher at Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, Pa., … who is currently working on “Harry Meets Hamlet and Scrooge,” that will explore Harry’s literary antecedents.
– Daniel Nexon, an assistant professor in the government department at Georgetown University who co-edited “Harry Potter and International Relations,” published last year by Rowman & Littlefield Publishers Inc.
– “If Harry Potter Ran General Electric: Leadership Wisdom From the World of Wizards” by Tom Morris published in 2006.
And best of all: “Harry Potter and Torah,” which Dov Krulwich self-published late last year.
