Another instance of UGC failing to deliver. How about a little editorial judgment here? Especially since BusinessWeek collaborates with Boston Consulting Group on this annual nonsense, which is based on surveying execs. I mean how innovative can the Fifty Most Innovative Companies be, if this list includes just about every serious player in computers (in order: Apple, Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Dell, and HP), CPG/pharma (P&G, Genentech, Pfizer, J&J, Amgen, Merck) and consumer electronics/phones (Sony, Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, RIM, Nintendo, LG)? I guess you’re a loser if you’re in media (Disney and News Corp. only), cars, financial services, telco, or retail.

Maybe this exercise shows that all the execs who don’t work in “technology” think the tech companies are innovators…
